In our Lost Wax Carving Class, you’ll step into the world of fine jewellery and learn the foundations of lost-wax design. You will be guided by one of our silversmiths as you design, cut, sculpt, and refine your own wax piece from scratch. It’s a relaxed, hands-on session perfect for anyone looking to explore jewellery making for the first time or reconnect with their creative side.
Location: Leslieville, Downtown Toronto
Duration: 2.5–3 hours, depending on how long it takes you to finish your piece
What to Expect: In this 2.5–3 hour workshop, you will learn how to cut, shape, and finish a wax piece with guidance at every step. After the class, we can optionally also cast your wax model into sterling silver, polish and ship your finished piece directly to your home once complete.
Safety: This workshop uses open flames, heated metal and sharp hand tools. Long hair must be tied back. We ask that all participants are 15+; participants aged 15–17 must be booked by a parent or guardian.
Casting: Please note that casting your final wax piece is optional, and will include additional casting costs based on the gram weight of the final piece. Our casting partners currently only offer casting in sterling silver, and 14k and 18k gold. Typical sterling silver casting costs ranges from $40 for delicate pieces to upwards of $100 for heavier pieces, depending on the weight of your design.
We’re happy to recommend lighter, more delicate options if preferred, however, choosing to cast your piece is always optional, and we’ll be sure to let you know the estimated silver cost before finalizing. We will ship your polished piece to your home after the casting is complete.
Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change.
- Free cancellation within 24 hours of booking confirmation.
- Cancellations made after that window receive a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class are non-refundable.
