Lost Wax Carving - Home Kit

A quiet kind of making, sent to your door - create your own ring, pendant, or charm at home.

Our home kit gives you the tools, wax, and instruction to carve your design at your own pace. When you are finished, send your carved wax pieces back to us using the prepaid return label included in your box. We will review your pieces, send you a casting quote, then cast, polish, and ship your finished jewelry back to you.

Our virtual studio provides you access to our lost wax carving guide, instructor videos, and virtual guidance if you need help with your design, carving techniques, ring sizing, or preparing your piece to send back.

• Virtual Studio access, lost wax carving guide and instructions video
• Metal carving tools, ring sizer, files and needle files
• Green wax blanks, red wax sheet, blue wax strings, plus spare scraps for repairs
• Tea light candle (your heat source)
• Calipers, ruler, pencil, and transfer paper
• Sandpaper and fan brush
• ID tags and transport boxes for your finished pieces
• Return label to send your cast pieces back to us. 

How it works

1. Carve at home. Sketch, size, shape, and detail your wax at your own pace — full guidance is included in our virtual studio if you get stuck.
2. Send it back. Label your piece with the included tag, pack it in the supplied transport box (never a padded envelope — wax needs firm support in transit), and post it with the prepaid return label.
3. We quote, you approve. Once your wax arrives, we weigh it and send a casting quote based on metal, size, and finish. 
4. Cast, finished, and home. After approval, we cast, hand-finish, and polish your piece, then ship it back to you — about two weeks from approval.

Metals & casting cost: please note that casting in silver and gold is priced separately and isn't included in the kit price. Casting is optional and you only pay for casting once your design is finalized, sent back to us, and weighed to determine the price.

• 10k, 14k, or 18k gold — gold starts from about 10x the price of silver by weight. This is an approximation to help you understand the price range of gold. Exact quotes are provided based on the spot price, weight and karat that you select.
